International practical conference “Science innovation and entrepreneurship” was held at KSTU


On 22 November 2017 in the Assembly hall of the main building of KSTU was held international practical conference “Science innovation and entrepreneurship”.

The event was organized by “Foreign languages” Department staff of KSTU headed by Djantassova Damira Dulatovna.

The main objectives of the conference are the development of international relations of young scientists, increasing the level of professionally-oriented English language, support of young professionals in overcoming the language barrier and the acquisition of language skills, and discussion of problems and prospects, exchange of experience, practical skills and abilities in the field of science innovation and entrepreneurship. Masters and doctoral students are suggested a study of research based on different English-language sources of information.

The format of the conference “Science innovation and entrepreneurship” differs from the official standard conferences so that the main speakers were the participants of the conference themselves. All performances and discussions were conducted in English.

The conference was attended by: Professor, PhD Daniel Churchill (University of Hong Kong), PhD Constance DeVereaux (Colorado State University, USA) and PhD Dylan Evans (UK), as well as specialists-practitioners from the US: Ben Taylor (Humboldt State University) and Jordan Bakke (University of Tennessee, Knoxville) and about 300 undergraduates, doctoral students, young scientists and engineers conducting research in the field of technical sciences.

Also in the program of the conference were included reports of foreign scientists in the field of technical and economic sciences, poster presentation, workshops on topical issues and problems of learning English as a foreign language using interactive teaching methods and information technologies, including on topical issues and problems of engineering. Also, the participants can get acquainted with modern materials for the study of English in engineering courses.

During registration, participants could get acquainted with the benefits of the English language manuals published abroad.

Within the conference a competition was held for the best poster presentation which will be judged by the criterion of “creative approach to content presentation”. The participants prepared presentations on many scientific fields, including engineering, design, development and practical application of new technologies.

More than 10 projects were submitted. The Expert Commission will decide and award the best presentation in the final conference on 22 November 2017.

All participants received certificates.
