On December 14, on the eve of the Independence Day of particular significance for our country, a solemn meeting was held in the Assembly hall of Karaganda state technical University chaired by the rector of our educational institution, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor Marat Ibatov.
- Today is one of the most important holidays for all people of Kazakhstan! This is the day when Kazakhstan gained independence, and our language has acquired the status of state and we all were able to return to the national culture, customs and traditions. Heartily congratulate you on 26 years of anniversary of Independence Day! – with these words the rector of the institution began his congratulation speech addressed to staff and faculty. Simultaneously with the achievements of our Republic, Marat Kenesovich paid particular attention, and the achievements of our University. On the path of development of our country every important initiative relies on the achievement of scientific thought. In this regard, the rector noted contributions of our entire University and all its employees in the development of education in our state.
Lecturer of History of Kazakhstan Department Kayir Tleugabylova in her report presented during the solemn event announced our achievements for years of independence and highlighted some points of the history and development of Kazakhstan. Also, she reminded the audience that this holiday has a special meaning for all citizens of Kazakhstan, as it represents the day when it is finished the people’s aspirations of freedom and that each of us must exert all our strength to preserving the unity and prosperity in our country.
Next word was given to the student of EE-15-6 group Arnur Darbekov, who is studying in our University, and he noted the achievements and successes of students of KSTU during the year. In continuation of his words, the student of TT-16-1 group Amangeldy Abylai read a report on the theme “Ideas that change the world”.
After that, the rector presented the faculty and staff of KSTU state awards from the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Bayturssynov Order of Association of Higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Certificate of Merit from the MES of the RK was awarded to Doctor of Sciences, professor Nikolai Drizhd, A. Bayturssynov silver medal of Association of Higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded to the Doctor of Sciences, professor Gulnara Santayevna Zhetessova.
Honorary diploma of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded to: professor Yury Moisseevich Kim, Candidate of Technical Science Paruza Maukebayevna Kelmagambetova, professor Manzhuin Ivan Petrovich, Ph.D., Yury Mikhaylovich Smirnov, professor, senior lecturer Aiman Sharapatovna Zhunussova, professor Adil Suratovich Kadyrov, Ph.D. Sergey Georgievich Ozhigin, Candidate of Technical Sciences Svetlana Michailovna Udartseva, Candidate of Technical Sciences Taranov Alexander Victorovich, Candidate of Technical Sciences Erakhtina Irina Ivanovna, Candidate of Technical Sciences Bulatbayev Felix Nazymovich, Candidate of Technical Sciences Imanov Marat Omirbekovich, Candidate of Technical Sciences Rakhimova Galiya Mukhamedievna.

After the ceremony the staff and faculty gave proper respect to the representatives of the student youth, who manifested themselves in the excellent academic and scientific achievements, as well as podium places in various contests and competitions. They also received letters of appreciation from the rector of KSTU.
At the end of the meeting Vice-rector for Strategic development of KSTU presented various kinds of computer equipment to the heads of structural departments and head of departments, teams who have achieved good results during the year.
The solemn meeting ended with a concert program prepared by students of the University.
