KSTU’s student won a grant


A student of Karaganda State Technical University Sherkhan Moldabay won a grant in the amount of 750 000 KZT, suggesting the idea of using the breed earthworms “staratel” during the processing of agricultural waste. Student’s project called “BioGood” was created in the summer camp “Camp Bastau” within the Republican contest of business projects “Kemel Kasipker”.

We remind that in May of this year, Eurasian Top Holding National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan “Atameken” RK and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development Center – “Almaty Management University” (AlmaU) with the aim of creating a youth enterpreneurship ecosystems among students enrolled in institutions of higher education in the territory of the Republic, organized competitions “Kemel Kasipker”. The selection of participants for participation in this project took place in universities in several regions of Kazakhstan: Kostanai, Aktobe, Pavlodar and Karaganda. Karaganda round of the championship was held in E.A. Buketov KSU and in our University. This goal is aimed at finding young people who are prone to enterpreneurship, developing their knowledge and skills in this area, the formation of young people’s ideas about effective life strategies and the economic and entrepreneurial potential, and their wide dissemination; strengthening linkages between University students in all regions (association of managers and marketers with the representatives of technical specialties); presentation of the projects and the development of students’ skills in teamwork.

By the results of the competition two teams of our University who received 1-2 places (1st place – “Mendeleevtsy”, 2nd place – IT team) received a referral to participate in a 10-day educational training camp, located in Zhylandy village, Alakol district, Almaty region. In July, 105 students from 12 regions of Kazakhstan in the camp school, studied with local business coaches, marketers, and created their own projects, allowing them to implement their own ideas aimed at the development of the national production, social entrepreneurship, IE decisions and communications, as well as civil liability and green economy.

Sherkhan Moldabay’s “BioGood” project, majoring “Biotechnology” of “Chemistry and Chemical Technologies” Department of KSTU, was selected among the best from the point of view of the business investors projects created by youth, and received recognition, receiving second place.
