On 08.09.2024, the opening of the Freshman Spartakiad took place at the KARTU sports complex named after Abylkas Saginov. The purpose of which was to attract students to physical education and the selection of athletes for the national teams of the university. Competitions began on the same day and lasted until 10/31/2024 in the following sports – volleyball (men, women), mini-football, chess, table tennis, all-around, basketball, togyz kumalak, kettlebell lifting, Kazakh kuresi, checkers. More than three hundred and fifty students from all faculties were involved in the opening and participation in the Spartakiad.
The places were won in the following order: first place – Mining Faculty, second place – Faculty of Innovative Technologies, third place – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, fourth place – Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, fifth place – Faculty of Energy, Automation and Telecommunications, sixth place – Faculty of Transport and Roads and seventh place – Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management.
