On January 23, Saginov Technical University was visited by a delegation of Kazakhmys Group, consisting of S. Shayakhmetov, Director of Sustainable Development at Kazakhmys Holding LLP, T. Shuriev, Director of Work with External Stakeholders at Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, and other representatives.
The purpose of the visit was to study the scientific and technical potential of our university and discuss opportunities for joint projects in the field of mining and metallurgical industry.
During the visit, representatives of the corporation became familiar with the activities of the testing laboratory of the engineering profile “Integrated development of mineral resources”, as well as with the laboratories and ongoing scientific projects of the departments of “Nanotechnology and Metallurgy” and “Chemistry and Chemical Technology”.
The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the development of innovative technologies, joint research and training of specialists focused on the needs of industry.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming scientific and technical hackathon, which will be held at the university with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kazakhmys Corporation. The hackathon will bring together scientists and industry experts to find innovative solutions to current challenges in the mining and metallurgical sector.
This visit was an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the university and the country’s leading manufacturing enterprises, opening up new horizons for practice-oriented education and the commercialization of scientific developments.
