On April 27, 2018 in the Palace of Youth “Zhastar Alem” of Karaganda State Technical University was held the Republican stage of the Chinese language contest “Chinese Language Bridge”. This year’s theme was “One world, one family”. Within the walls of our University, the event is held for the first time and it is organized by Confucius Institute with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan.
The annual international contest “Chinese Bridge” is organized by the state office for the spread of Chinese abroad (Hanban) and is designed to spread Chinese language and culture around the world. It has been held for 10 years in our country.
More than 20 students and schoolchildren studying in Confucius Institutes (IK) at universities such as Al-Farabi KazNU, L. Gumilyov ENU, K. Zhubanov ARSU, Abylai Khan KazUIR & WL University, KSTU took part in the Republican contest.
The competition was held in several rounds, during which the participants demonstrated their language skills (speaking, grammar). The next stage was a comprehensive knowledge of Chinese language (check of comprehensive knowledge and its practical use), knowledge of the history and culture of China, as well as artistic talents (song, dance, musical instrument, calligraphy, brush, national sport (U-Shu, Tai Chi).
The jury included Wang Qingping-Consul for culture of Consulate General of China in Kazakhstan, Yang Lay-Director of Confucius Institute from the Chinese side at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Wang Zheng – Director of Confucius Institute from the Chinese side at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Li Jianhong – Director of Confucius Institute from the Chinese side at K.Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University and Nu Wenjuan – teacher of Confucius Institute at KSTU. Among the guests of the competition were diplomats: Li Guang, head of public diplomacy of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan, Choi Jeng –attache of the PRC in Kazakhstan.
Following the results of competition the best experts of Chinese language and culture were defined. Among University students:
I place – Anel Tolegen, the student of IC at Ablai Khan KazUIR & WL;
II place was shared by Altynai Seilova, student of IC at K. Zhubanov ARSU and Zarina Sultanova, student of IC at KSTIU;
III place was awarded to Akmarzhan Kyranbayeva, student of IC at K.Zhubanov ARSU, Nargizakhon Muratova, student of IC in L. Gumilyov ENU, Madina Yesserkepova, student of IC at K. Zhubanov ARSU.
Among school students:
I place was won by Akzhan Boken, a student of IC of K. Zhubanov ARSU;
II place was divided by Gauhar Kenes, a student of IC at ARSU K. Zhubanov and Botagoz Mukhamedzhan, a student of IC at KSTU.
Third place were taken by Gauhar Zhumabayeva, Alexander Kuznetsov, IC students at KSTU and Elizaveta Khissmatullina, a student at IC of K. Zhubanov ARSU.
All participants received certificates, organizers awarded valuable prizes to the winners of the contest: laptop, cell phones to the winners of the second and third places, and tablets to all other participants.
Under the terms of the Republican stage of the competition, the first two winners, as well as the owners of 2 places, who showed the best results at this stage will go to Beijing for further participation in the world competition “Chinese Bridge” and will receive free training at Confucius Institute at KSTU for one term.
