At Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University there was held an online meeting, organized by Fatima Zhakypova, head of the Academic Excellence and Global Competitiveness Projects Group at the Project Management Office of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the event “The National Rating” project was discussed in detail. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors Aryn Orsariev, Chairman of the Management Board – Rector Saule Sagintayeva, Members of the Management Board – Vice-Rectors, deans of faculties and heads of structural divisions.
Fatima Zhakypova emphasized the main objectives of the project “National Rating: International experience and methodology”, as well as its importance for improving the quality of education. The pilot project will be launched on January 5, 2025. In addition, strategies for entering the international rankings of QS and Times Higher Education were presented there.
Rector Saule Sagintayeva noted: “The National Rating is an important tool for attracting talented students and increasing the recognition of universities in the international arena. The growth of competitiveness contributes not only to improving the quality of education, but also to strengthening the reputation of universities. Applicants and employers make their choice based on these ratings, so this is extremely important for us”.
We will remind that Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University today, according to the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, is one of the five leading technical universities in Kazakhstan. And according to the QS World University Rankings, it ranks 851+ place; according to the rating of Asian universities, QS World University Rankings Asia is on the 264th place and on the 14th place according to the rating of universities in Central Asia. These are quite high indicators, showing that our university adequately represents Kazakhstan in the international educational space.
