On October 18, 2017 in the 428 auditorium of the 1st building of KSTU was held the round table”Multicultural space – our future” in English. The event was organized by the Department of Foreign Languages of KSTU.
The head of the department of Foreign Languages, associate professor, Ph.D. D.D. Jantassova greeted thestudents, teachers and guests of the round table. She noted the relevance of the chosen topic and the necessity to share experience with a view to a more clear understanding of the program of multilingual education that fosters the formation of a language-competitive generation in the globalization context.
Participants of the event were over 30 people, including the teaching staff, postgraduates, 1st-year students and foreign students of KSTU.
The round table was held on the following thematic sections:
“Multilingualism as one of the priorities of modern education: state perspectives”, “On the implementation of polylingual education in KAZAKHSTAN”, “Developing students’ intercultural communication skills in the frame of multicultural education in the republic of Kazakhstan ».
Participants and guests discussed the necessity for multilingual education as an effective mechanism for the formation of a competitive specialist, a positive poly-linguistic personality, capable of active and effective life in a multinational and multicultural environment.
During the discussion, participants had an opportunity to exchange views and experience on the above topics, as well as discuss the prospects for a successfully implemented program of multilingual education at KSTU within the framework of systemic multilevel training in Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages aimed at acquiring intercultural communicative competence by students.
At the end of the round table, all participants received certificates.
