05 October 2017, in the second building of KSTU was held a solemn opening of a memorial board and information stand of Doctor of Engineering, professor, member-correspondent of Academy of Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan Khamimolda Baurzhan Zheksembekuly (1952-2015).
The opening ceremony of the memorial was started with the greeting speech of the rector of KSTU, professor, Doctor of Engineering, M.K. Ibatov. M.K. Ibatov gave tribute to the scientific merit and personal qualities of Baurzhan Zheksembekuly mentioned the energy and creativity that distinguished him in life.
All those who were fortunate to work with Baurzhan Zheksembekuly throughout his academic and professional career, spoke of him as a brilliant professional with deep knowledge and ability to effectively organize the work of his subordinates.
Remembering the dearly deceased colleague, his friends, colleagues and employees, described him as a reliable friend, a witty and charming man.
His wife Kulyash Abdeshevna expressed heartfelt gratitude to KSTU administration and faculty of the Department where her husband worked for the attention and support of the family in difficult days.
Khamimolda Baurzhan Zheksenbekuly was born 05.08.1952, in the station Matai, Taldykorgan region. There he spent his youth and graduated from high school.
In 1975, he graduated from Kazakh Polytechnic Institute majoring in “Technology and complex mechanization of underground mining of mineral deposits”, with qualification of mining engineer. After graduation, he began his career as Deputy Director of the trust “Kazmetallurgstroy”.
In 1977, Baurzhan Zheksembekuly went to work in Karaganda Polytechnic Institute (now Karaganda State Technical University). Within the walls of this University B.Zh. Khamimolda has gone from an ordinary teacher (graduate student) to the Vice-rector of University.
More than twenty years (from 1977 to 2001) B.Zh. Khamimolda had been working at the Department A.S.Saginov “Development of mineral resources deposits”. And in the period from 2001 to 2008 he held the position of Vice-rector of KSTU. From 1995 to 1997, he participated in a scientific internship at Osmangazy Eskisehir University in Turkey.
Baurzhan Zheksembekuly was a bright representative of academics cast, genuinely enthusiastic about their job and constantly striving for new discoveries and horizons. His name is known not only to specialists of mining, but also to workers of environmental protection and industrial safety spheres at mining enterprises.
A wide popularity was gained by his researches concerning the problems of the development of flat-dipping and sloping ore deposits. The results of his research activities, B.Zh. Khamimolda reflected in his thesis for the first time (in 1982) and then PhD(in 2000) dissertation. His academic aspirations were not limited to his own career, B.Zh. Khamimolda gave a lot of power and energy to research and he published more than 100 scientific papers, he was the author of 18 inventions, 5 manuals and 3 monographs.
The desire for the practical application of scientific results has led Baurzhan Zheksembekuly to the position of Deputy General Director for security and labor protection in “Karagandatsvetmet”, “Corporation Kazakhmys” LLP. After that, he headed DGP “KazSRIWSM”, “CNRS” RSE of MES RK. The people with whom he worked in these institutions, spoke of him as a person with unconventional creative thinking, and noted that he is in the course of solving production problems, he had always been able to successfully combine the scientific vision and a practical approach. It was easy and interesting to work with him.
For his conscientious work, Baurzhan Zheksembekova was awarded breastplates of MES RK “Y. Altynsarin” and “Honorary worker of education of RK”. In 2012, he was awarded the badge “For contribution to the development of the system of emergency situations” by MES.
