Memorandum of cooperation with KazGBC signed at Abylkas Saginov University

On January 17, at the Abylkas Saginov University, a memorandum on green cooperation was signed with the Union of Kazakhstan Council for Green Construction – KazGBC.

As you know, the so-called “green construction” is gaining momentum in Kazakhstan. Today it is one of the priority global trends. And compliance with environmental requirements applies to the construction of all types of buildings.

T. Kanapyanov, a member of the Board and Vice–Rector for Strategic Development and Digitalization, welcomed the guests and noted the relevance of the tasks facing the country’s universities. The memorandum of cooperation with the Union of Kazakhstan Council for Green Construction – KazGBC will allow university teachers and students to be prepared for the challenges of the time.

A. Shopayeva, Technical Director of KazGBC, and A. Bely, executive director of this non-profit organization, spoke about their work to promote green construction and train qualified specialists in this industry. At the same time, it was emphasized that the first OMIR national standard for green buildings in Central Asia was initiated and developed by KazGBC under the supervision of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC).

Currently, the main task of the Union is to train personnel in green construction. Relevant memorandums of cooperation have been signed with many universities in Astana and Almaty and work is underway. Cooperation with the Abylkas Saginov Moscow State Medical University, which has several departments directly or indirectly related to green construction, also promises to be fruitful. Moreover, currently, only one building owned by Ergonomics LLP has been able to receive a green certificate in the region. Therefore, a large field of activity is open here for specialists trained by KazGBC.

Teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates and students can receive appropriate training by completing a 72-hour course combining online and offline training. At the end of the course, appropriate certificates of specialists in green construction will be issued.

Judging by the reaction of the university representatives present, the proposals voiced by the guests aroused great interest on their part. A solemn ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation was held with the unanimous consent of the parties.

T. Kanapyanov and A. Bely put their signatures and exchanged folders to the applause of those present. The beginning has been made. In a good hour!
