On November 5, 2024 a meeting of heads of organizations of the Corporate University was held in Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University.
The Corporate University as an innovation and educational consortium was established in 2008. Initially, it included 22 enterprises. Today it has grown to 80 enterprises. Among them are not only domestic industrial enterprises, but also Russian universities.
Opening the meeting Chairman of the Board – Rector of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University, Dr.Sc in Economics Sagintayeva Saule Savetovna noted that she, together with the leadership of the university since May of this year visited more than 40 organizations of the Karaganda region. During the visit a number of problems were raised concerning the educational process and improving the quality of training of graduates, as well as problems of scientific and technical nature.
In particular, there were requests to the university to strengthen the training of welders meeting the highest requirements. Especially since our university has all the necessary welding equipment and qualified teaching staff. Kazakhstan Welding University has been opened based on it, which has the relevant certificate of training of welders of international level.
Many managers expressed the wish to intensify the work of our institute of advanced training in terms of retraining of employees of mining, machine building, electric power engineering and other specialties. And also, to include in the topics of diploma projects the solution of production problems with their subsequent defense at these enterprises.
They offer their assistance, are ready to participate in the educational process by giving lectures, conducting practical classes, supervising course and diploma design. 4 heads offered assistance in organizing republican and regional Olympiads and competitions in science. 15 enterprises expressed a desire to participate in grant funding, program of targeted funding and co-financing together with the university scientists, solving the issues of commercialization.
For example, the management of “Santekhprom” asks to create a joint laboratory to determine the thermal conductivity of plate radiators, which is currently being carried out by the university scientists together with employees of “Terricon Valley” LLP. A special area of cooperation is the organization of meetings of university graduates with managers and leading specialists of enterprises. Among other things, this will contribute to solving employment problems.
Cultural cooperation was also discussed. Proposals were made to organize joint sports events, recreation in the university sports and recreation camp in Karkaralinsk.
The participants of the meeting thanked the leadership of the university for support and cooperation, expressed confidence that joint work will bring the desired results.
And the director of “KAZPROM AVTOMATIKA” LLP D.A. Lepekhov immediately offered his project prepared for the meeting, presenting it personally to Saule Savetovna.
In continuation of the meeting, the participants were given sightseeing tours, acquainting them with the Institute of Welding, the Center for Working Professions, the training ground of “Mining and Mines Equipment”, laboratories…
It seems that many people were pleasantly surprised by what they saw during the tour. As they admitted when summarizing the results of the meeting. Some of them expressed a desire to continue their education in the master’s and doctoral programs at the university, having appreciated its technical equipment. And they have long heard about the strong teaching staff working there.

Moreover, the state is taking measures to strengthen the link between science and production. For example, the issue of exemption of R&D (research and development) from taxation is being resolved, which opens up additional prospects for cooperation between production enterprises and universities.
And immediately there were a number of interesting proposals from the participants. In turn, Member of the Board Vice-Rector for Research Mehtiyev A. D. noted that we have proposals for mutually beneficial cooperation that can be discussed separately.
Concluding the meeting, Sagintayeva S.S. emphasized that we are in an industrial region. Sagintayeva S.S. emphasized that we are located in the industrial region. We are patriots of our country, and we should and can provide students with conditions to receive good education in our homeland. A good example for us is the branch of the top Arizona University opened in Petropavlovsk on the basis of Kozybayev University, where students have started studying within the framework of the double degree program. This can also be done with another top foreign university in Petropavlovsk.
