Language Marathon
- From February 12 to March 5, 2013 Department of “Foreign Languages” held “Language Marathon” devoted the 60th anniversary of KSTU. Tasks of marathon:
- – Increase motivation to learn a foreign language;
- – The development of logical and creative thinking;
- – Activation of cognitive activity;
- – Raising the ability to work in a team, the collective performance of tasks;
- – Education and the ability to listen to others express their ideas;
- – Development of monologue and dialogue speech;
- – Formation and development of linguistic and organizational abilities.
- 71 students took part in the marathon: English language groups – 8 teams from each institute and German language groups-three teams of KSTU institutions.
- At the opening of the Language Marathon students learned about the rules and job competition.
- According to the program Marathon teams were offered six types of tasks:
- • Letter
- • Reading
- • Listening
- • Monologue on “The greatest invention of mankind”
- • Polylogue
- • “Business card institution”
- At the closing of the Language Marathon the results of competition were announced. Teams were awarded diplomas of I, II, III degree and prizes.

- 1st-team is the team of Institute of Architecture and Construction
- 2nd place is the team of the Institute of Computer Technology and Systems
- 3rd place is the team of Institute for Telecommunications, Energy and Automation
- German:
- 1st-team «Exposion»
- 2nd-team «Bergbauer»
- 3rd-team «Traum»
- In addition, students are awarded in six categories of the Language Marathon:

- The most insightful
- The most attentive
- Thinker
- The most artistic
- The most creative
