According to tradition, on the Knowledge Day, at Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University there was held a meeting with first-year students. It always takes place in such a way so that it remains for a long time in memory of the students who chose to study at our university, which has earned well-deserved fame.
The first-year students and their families who were greeted by a festively decorated square in front of the main building of the university. On the stage adjacent to the porch of the main building there stood the leadership of the university, headed by the chairman of the board – Rector of the University S. S. Sagintayeva and guests.
The solemn ceremony of meeting with the first-year students began with the laying of flowers at the monument of academician A. S. Saginov, whose name was assigned to our university.
After the introduction of the flag and the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Board, Rector of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University, Doctor of Economics S. S. Sagintayeva addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech. Warmly congratulating them on the start of their studies at a technical university, she stressed that we are among the top five technical universities in the country. This year, 2442 first-year students will start studying there.
– I wish all the students to make the most of the opportunities offered by studying at our university, to become real, competitive specialists in their chosen field.
These wishes were joined by honored guests – laureate of the Al-Farabi State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor M. K. Ibatov, Chairman of the Council for Spiritual and Moral Education, Professor K.B. Kyzirov, Executive Director of the Alumni Association of our University, Professor T. S. Yntykov and Director of the branch of JSC Freedom Bank Kazakhstan A. B. Baisalbayev.
This year, JSC Freedom Bank Kazakhstan organized a competition for applicants. As a result, three first-year students of our university became holders of educational grants from this bank. The lucky ones, including Aslan Akhmetov, Danil Ostapenko and Lisa Kalinichenko, were awarded the appropriate certificates.
Then the most solemn moment of the meeting came – the dedication to students. Aliya Doskalieva, a graduate student in Geodesy, the Best student of 2024, the holder of a scholarship established by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a scholarship from the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, handed over a symbolic student ID to a first-year student, the owner of the badge “Altyn Belgi” Yerasyl Issabaev.
The words of the oath of the freshmen were heard. They promise to faithfully observe the laws of the student fellowship they join.
At the end of the meeting, a festive concert and a flash mob were held, which was prepared by activists of the Zhas Orda youth association.
