Department of ” mine ventilation ” was organized in 1958 and in the same year, was transformed into the Department of “Mine aerology and safety .” The first head of the department was NF Kremenchutskiy , now a professor at the DnepropetrovskMiningAcademy , Doctor of Technical Sciences . State Department consisted of 6 members : Associate Professor GE Panov , TE Gumenjuk , NF Kremenchutskiy , NF Grashchenkov , VM Malyarevsky , graduate DA Amanbaev .
In 1962 he was elected head of the Department Associate Professor NF Grashchenkov , who led her 30 years. During this time, Nikolai Fedorovich doctorate , he became a professor , founded the scientific school in the field of safety in the mining industry , has trained more than 50 candidates and doctors of sciences , ten years as Dean of Academic Affairs KarPTI.
During the operation of the department are working and are working well-known scholars in the field of safety in a variety of industries , primarily mining : participants WWII Professor NF Kremenchutskiy and associate TE Gumenjuk , Associate Professor G. Head of the department from 2001 to 2002 carried a graduate KarPTI 1961 , Ph.D. , Professor VS Kharkiv , and from 2002 to 2006 . department was headed by Associate Professor JK Amanzholov 2006 to 2007 yy Prof. JG Levitsky , from 2007 to 2009 yy . headed the Department Ph.D., P. Emelin .
In 2009 — 2015, the head of the department was Ph.D., Professor N.H. Sharipov.
From 2015 to the present, the head of the department “Mine Aerology and Labor Protection” is Ph.D., Associate Professor N.R. Zholmagambetov.
The department maintains close ties with related departments of universities in Russia , Ukraine, in order to improve training . Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor KZ Ushakov , BF Kirin from the Moscow State Mining University , NF Kremenchutskiy , Boiko VA from Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute , now the Mining Academy , are involved in the learning process and share their experiences with KSTU and joint research. Staff of the department of the RA and RT for years of activity has developed in our country , dozens of new technical solutions , most of which are implemented in production to this day are widely used in coal mines , industrial enterprises of building materials, mining and metallurgical industry of Kazakhstan and CIS countries the total economic impact of several million tenge. As a result of the introduction of new technical solutions significantly increased the level of process safety and reduced emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
The current research school under the direction of Professor NF Grashchenkova reared and released to the protection of doctoral and master’s theses more than 50 people , who continue to develop the research areas and work in educational institutions in industrial enterprises in Kazakhstan and abroad .
At the department is a great educational and scientific work. The Department is leading among the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan to develop educational program 6В11201 “Life safety and environmental protection”. The department conducted training and preparation of graduate students on the educational program 7M11201 « Life safety and environmental protection”.
