International cooperation.
The Department realizes agreements on cooperation in the field of Metallurgy with the Tomsk Polytechnic University, the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, the Louisiana Technical University. Within the framework of cooperation, internships for teachers and undergraduates are organized, joint scientific research is carried out.

Graduates of the department successfully work in the areas and individual contracts at the enterprises of Astana, Uralsk, Atyrau, Rudniy, Petropavlovsk, Zhezgazgan, Pavlodar, Almaty, Balkhash, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Cherepovets, Novorossiysk, Chelyabinsk and other cities of Kazakhstan and the CIS.
Activity of branches of the department
The department has branches at LLP “KMZ them. Parkhomenko “and LLP” Mashzavod No. 1 “. Branches of the department ensure the conduct of excursions to students of the first year; Carrying out of industrial and pre-diploma practice of students of 3 and 4 courses; Carrying out initiative and contractual works with the provision of the existing equipment of the thermal workshop and chemical and mechanical laboratories; Conducting industrial experiments by students, undergraduates, doctoral students and applicants; Consultations of leading engineering and technical workers and the management of the plant to students performing final works on the subjects of the plant of this specialty; Lecturing by the leading teachers of the department for workers and engineers of the plant; Conducting open lectures by leading workers of the plant for students, undergraduates and faculty members of the NTM department; Organization and holding of the scientific and technical conference “Improving the quality of training of specialists in machine-building pre-furnishings”.
From March 27 to March 31, 2015 at the Department of MM and H lectured on nanotechnology professor of the University of Toulouse (France) Christophe Laurent.
