Foreign students were told about the legal basis of staying in Kazakhstan


On 25 October 2017, the meeting with foreign students studying in KSTU with the migration police and the Department for Religious Affairs of the Karaganda region.

Students-citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Jordan learned about the procedure of entry and staying in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Head of the Department for External Migration of the DIA of Karaganda region Manarbek Kamaubek drew attention to the need for timely registration and strict compliance with the law during students’ entire stay in the country. In addition, the representative of the migration service reminded students of the responsibility for violating the passport-visa regime. He paid special attention to the cases of discrepancy between the address register and the address of actual residence.

Head of the Center for International Cooperation and Academic Mobility Aigerim Kozhabergenova explained students the terms of opening, renewal and termination, study and visitor visas.

Theologians of “Directorate of Religious Affairs” of Karaganda region Beibit Zhansarin and Kabylbek Ashiraliyev told about the stages of formation and development of various faiths. The speakers reminded the audience about the ban on conducting religious propaganda on the territory of educational institutions and places of residence. It was recommended to be careful in choosing the areas of the spiritual self in order to avoid the influence of the representatives of destructive religious movements. In addition, students were explained that the reason for prohibition of the activities of 14 destructive religious organizations on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan was the participation of their followers in terrorist activities.

During the meeting, the guests answered the students’ questions about the procedures for obtaining a residence permit, the repatriate status and citizenship.
