On September 18, 2024, at the Huawei ICT Academy of the Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov, the annual Roadshow was held, in which representatives of Huawei, teaching staff of the faculties of FEAT and FIT, as well as students of the educational programs “Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications”, “Network Technologies” took part. and communication systems”, “Information systems”, “Information security systems” and “IT medicine”. This Roadshow is held annually to encourage students to participate in the international IT Olympiad “Huawei ICT Competition”. At this Olympiad, students have the right to choose one of three areas for participation: “Network Track”, “Cloud Track” and “Computing Track”.
As part of this competition, Huawei ICT Academy students around the world compete with each other to defend their projects in the ICT field. The Olympiad is held in 4 stages, at the first stage, students are selected in their cities, students who have shown better results go to the second stage of the national selection in the city of Almaty, then the best students of the national selection go to the 3rd stage, which takes place in Saudi Arabia, among which Grand finalists are revealed. The grand final takes place at Huawei’s head office in Shenzhen (China). The best students at the national and global stages are awarded with valuable gifts, and the winners of the grand finals receive an invitation to work in companies as a priority.
Huawei ICT Academy of the Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov has been operating since 2021 and currently more than 300 students are registered in the classes of this academy, who have access to educational materials, virtual programs, guidelines for performing laboratory work, as well as video lessons , prepared by representatives of Huawei. Studying these materials will help students gain knowledge to win Olympiads, to receive free vouchers for taking an international exam, which gives the right to acquire a certificate that is recognized throughout the world and get a well-paid position in IT companies around the world.
In the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, classes are open in the following areas: Datacom, WLAN, Security, Big data and AI. All interested students of the Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov can join classes and access materials at any time; for this they need to contact the TCC department, on the basis of which Huawei ICT Academy is opened.
