What is a Hackathon? A hackathon is a competition in which teams need to develop a prototype of a product (for example, a web service or a mobile application) in a short time to solve a specific problem faced by a business customer. The same customer forms out the problem in a case and attracts his experts for consultations. Teams gather 3-5 people: developers, designers, analysts, marketers and other IT specialists.
3. From 07.04 to 09.04, the Hackathon “Insight-2022” was held within the walls of our university in the Business Skills Park among students and undergraduates of IT specialties of all universities of the Karaganda region.
Day 1 registration and meeting with enterprises, and then receiving the assignment.
On the first day, 16 teams of the following universities were registered to participate in the Hackathon: NAO ”A.Saginov KarTU”, NAO”E.A. Buketov KarU”, NAO”Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz”, NAO”Karaganda Medical University” and Karaganda Industrial University.

3. The final day. Behavior of the results of the competition. Receiving prizes and a certificate to the winners of the Hackathon The third day: 12 teams came out to defend the projects:
“Team R”, “ProFig”, “CyberSpace”, “Noname”, “Cyber Squad”, “Karaganda Industrial University”, “DevKaz”, “Peacemakers”, “TeamTigers”, “ESEBA”, “alğarytm”, “IT specialists”.
Following the results of the teams’ performance, the jury, after discussing the results, made the following decision:
🏆 Команда «ESEBA» (КарТУ) получила призы от АО «АрселорМиталл Темиртау»;
🏆 Команда «TeamTigers» (Карагандинский университет Казпотребсоюза) получала призы от ТОО “Qazdevelop”;
🏆 Команда «alğarytm» (КарТУ) получила призы от ТОО WOOPPAY;
🏆 Команда «ProFig» (КарТУ) получила призы от ТОО «KAZPROM AVTOMATIKA»;
🏆 Команда «DevKaz» (КарТУ) получила призы от ТОО «Epam Kazakhstan»;
🏆 Команда «CyberSpace» (КарУ) получила поощрительные призы от ТОО «Epam Kazakhstan» и АО «АрселорМиталл Темиртау»;
🏆Команда «Peacemakers» (совместная команда МУК и КарТУ) получила поощрительные призы от ТОО «Epam Kazakhstan», АО «АрселорМиталл Темиртау» и ТОО «KAZPROM AVTOMATIKA».
For Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov, this is the first event in the IT direction in the last two years. Such events with the participation of business representatives motivate students and undergraduates.
In 2021, our students took the 2nd place in the Republican Subject Olympiad (MES RK) on the OP “Information Systems” on the basis of the Karaganda University. academician E.A. Buketov
From 10.03.2022 to 11.03.2022, the annual Programming Olympiad among students and undergraduates of our University was held on the basis of the IT competence center. In 2022, 50 university students have registered for the Olympiad. As a result of two days of tests, students Amirkhanov Yerasyl gr.SIB-19-4, Kairov Chingiz gr.IS-19-3, Amirkhanov Akezhan gr.IS-19-3, Bakytuly Nurtileu gr.SIB-19-4 showed their level of competence and took prizes.
The winners of the university stage will take part in various IT competitions among students and undergraduates of the region and Kazakhstan.
