Course purpose
Course of ” Foundry shops furnaces » sets as the purpose studying of the basic types of the furnaces applied in casting shops. Problems of couse the following: to give to the future specialists of knowledge of the processes occurring at burning of fuel, heat transfer aspects, about a design and thermal work of furnaces.
Course objectives
As a result of studying of this Course student:
student knows:
– to know: about the smelting, thermal and heating furnaces of casting shops.
The nobility: the basic refractories and fuel aspects.
– to be able: to do design calculations of smelting furnaces and heating devices.
– to get practical skills: sampling of auxiliary devices, selection of refractories for linings; sampling of the smelting assembly and production engineering of fusion depending on demands to an alloy for handsheets; calculation and selection of a charge for concrete alloys and the smelting assemblies.
Prerequisites
Studying of this course requires assimilation of the following courses (with the indication of sections (subjects)):
