The delegation of Saginov Technical University, consisting of the Chairman of the Board – Rector, D.Sc. Economics S.Sagintayeva, Advisor to the Rector for Innovation Alexander Doroshenko, Dean of the Faculty of Energy, Automation and Telecommunications Felix Bulatbayev, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Medgat Mussayev visited the Faculty of Engineering of Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
From CUHK, the meeting was attended by: Professor Hon Ki Tsang, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Kam-fai Wong, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Xitao Fan, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Alan Cheung, Director of the Department of Educational Policy and Administration of the Faculty of Education; Fan Sing Hung.
During the meeting, there were discussed the issues of cooperation between our universities in conducting joint scientific research, implementing academic mobility and internship programs for students and teachers, and using innovative educational technologies.
It should be noted that CUHK has high positions in world rankings:
36th place in the world according to QS World University Rankings 2025, 44th place in the world according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, 10th place in Asia according to Times Higher Education, 1st place in Hong Kong according to US News & World Report.
Professor Kam-fai Wong is in the top 2% (or 1500) in the world ranking of scientists (among 10 million) according to Stanford University.
At the same time he is a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (an analogy of our Mazhilis). Therefore, the official address to him sounds like The Honorable Prof Kam-fai Wong, which emphasizes the importance of his position in society.
At the invitation of Hon Prof Hon Wong Kam-fai, our delegation, together with the Vice Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hong Kong and Macau, Aknur Zhaksybai, visited LegCo.
