On March 13, a meeting took place at Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University with the leaders of ethnic-cultural associations, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
“Unity through knowledge: the role of science and education” was the proposed topic for discussion during the meeting. The event was attended by students and university leadership, headed by the Chairman of the Board and Rector, S. Sagintayeva.
Our university maintains close ties with many ethnic-cultural associations. It is no surprise that they took an active part in the event. The Director of the Public Consent Department of the Internal Politics Administration of the Karaganda, Gulnara Kasembayeva, introduced the guests – leaders of regional ethnic-cultural associations: Polish, Chechen-Ingush, Azerbaijan, Georgian, Russian, German, Tatar-Bashkir, Korean, Tajik, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, and Uzbek. From this, we can already see a great diversity of ethnic groups characteristic of Kazakhstan society. Over the past 30 years, their integration into a unified people has been achieved through collective efforts. The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan has played a significant role in this.
As unanimously noted by all the speakers during the meeting, the Assembly has become the cornerstone of the Kazakhstan model of public harmony and national unity. Diligently fulfilling its mission, it proves in practice its significance as one of the fundamental factors of interethnic stability in society. This stability allows for the consistent and successful implementation of socio-economic and political transformations, contributing to the creation of a new, just, and independent Kazakhstan.
In their addresses to the student youth, the special role of education and knowledge in the modern world was emphasized. “The future of the country is in your hands. This is a trust and a high responsibility for continuing the best traditions, preserving stability, peace, and harmony in society,” this thought ran as a common theme throughout all the speeches of the representatives of ethnic-cultural centers.
“Today, everyone spoke here from the heart because they know the high value of friendship, peace, and stability. Together, on a voluntary basis, they are doing great work to strengthen the unity and cohesion of our people,” emphasized G. Kasembayeva.
Our university also contributes to this noble cause. This was highlighted by the Chairman of the Board and Rector Saule Sagintayeva.
The university is home to representatives from 39 ethnic groups. To promote and strengthen interethnic harmony, much is being done by the department of the “Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences.” The university serves as a platform for dialogue between cultures and nationalities, contributing to the harmonization of interethnic relations.
In order to further develop cooperation with ethnic-cultural associations, the university leadership made a number of proposals, which were warmly welcomed by the leaders of the ethnic-cultural associations.
At the end of the meeting, the guests were given a tour of the university’s social and innovative infrastructure.
