The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry), within the framework of a Memorandum between the Ministry and Amazon Development Center U.S., informs about the opportunity for students to participate in the Amazon OpenSearch project.
The OpenSearch project presents the Open Source Developer Initiative (OSCI) “Aerial Balloon Express”, which will allow participants to receive mentoring from experienced engineers in a supportive and inclusive environment and will facilitate learning and collaboration.
OSCI participants will work with Amazon engineers and expand their portfolio and skills by directly contributing to a well-known open source software project. The training is designed for 10 weeks in an online format.
In addition, in March of this year, Amazon launched the College Contributor Initiative (CCI) pilot program, which allowed 400 Kazakhstani students to receive mentoring and contribute code to the OpenSource OpenSearch Project. The high quality of technical education of Kazakhstani students convinced Amazon to open the program for students from the USA. Kazakh students have become pioneers who have opened this program for students from Harvard and Stanford.
In this regard, OSCI will not only help develop students’ technical skills, but will also allow them to communicate and join international teams with leading universities in the world.
Those wishing to participate in the project must apply by September 18 of this year at the link: https://amazonmr.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_esNNNyGLItb5iPY.
