On 28 April, the qualifying round of the largest International engineering championship “Case-in” by decision of fuel-energy and mineral cases will be held at Karaganda State Technical University.
The championship will cover 47 high schools from 35 regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan for 4 months of work. More than 3,000 students will compete to pass to the Championship final, which is traditionally held in Moscow on 30 and 31 May 2017.
International engineering championship “Case-in”” is a successor of the all-Russian championship on solving cases in mining (2013, 2014) and All-Russian championship of fuel and energy cases (2015) and consists of five directions (leagues): Power Engineering, Mining, Geological exploration, Metallurgy, Oil and gas.
The championship is the current educational project of the mining sector, which is formed of one of the most modern techniques of learning – business case. During the Championship, students and graduates in teams will propose solutions to engineering case studies, developed according to the materials of leading industry companies. Participants’ ideas will be assessed by expert jury from among the representatives of various companies, scientific and educational centres, industry experts and experts in business cases.
The aim of the project is to identify and support active, talented and motivated students from leading universities of Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, conducting training, mining profile and power engineering.
The Championship is organized by the Foundation “Nadezhnayasmena” (“Reliable rising generation”) and non-profit partnership “Youth forum of mining leaders””. Co-organizer of the League for the electricity sector is the International Council on large electric high voltage systems – CIGRE. Partners for the event are the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Agency for strategic initiatives on new projects promotion, large industrial enterprises and Karaganda State Technical University as well.
The qualifying round of the largest International engineering championship of fuel and energy cases solution in the field of mining and electrical power engineering will be held in KSTU on April 28 at 10.00 by the address: 56 Bulvar Mira, main building, room No. 337 and No. 338.
