September 1, 2013 at 9.00 on the square in front of the Main building of Karaganda State Technical University was held a solemn event devoted to Knowledge Day.
The best graduates of city schools, region and country chose technical education at a high level. This year for full-time form of education 1617 students, including 1017 – on state educational grant entered KSTU.
According to the established tradition, University met their freshmen with festive ceremony, to which colleagues of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Suleimenov T.I., academician of NAS RK Sarekenov K.Z., a veteran of GWW and labor Ponomareva S.G., Chairman of regional trade Union of workers of education and science Samoilyuk Т.Ph., heads of the enterprises of the Corporate University and representatives of the alumni Club were invited as honoured guests.
Honorary guests laid flowers to the monument of the founder of the University – Hero of Socialist Labour academician A.S. Saginov.
On the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of University under the sounds of a brass band associates of the President of Kazakhstan were awarded diplomas of honorary Professor of KSTU, and the most active members of the Club of graduates – a certificate of honorary student of KSTU.
All freshmen received a set of training materials for successful adaptation in the innovation environment of the University.
In this significant day Directors of institutes, heads of the chairs didn’t stay without gifts, they were presented with tablets for operative management of educational process.
The official part of the event included a concert prepared by creative student leaders and activists of trade Union of students and undergraduates «Zhas Orda».
The program of Knowledge Day was completed with Assembly lecture of rector of KSTU, academician of NAS RK, laureate of the State prize of RK A.M. Gazaliyev on theme: «Role of Karaganda State Technical University in industrial-innovative development of the Central-Kazakhstan region».
