On April 11, on the eve of the Day of Science Workers, Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University honored a group of researchers who received awards from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Chairman of the Board – Rector Saule Sagintayeva delivered a warm congratulatory speech to the attendees, including members of the Board, Vice-Rectors, and the university’s faculty. She extended heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Science Workers. She emphasized the university’s significant role in science and the training of engineering professionals—a legacy the university is proud of, now preparing specialists not only for the mining industry but for the broader industrial capital, as Karaganda is now called.
Her speech included statistics and facts that clearly demonstrate the university’s achievements in meeting its strategic goals. These achievements pertain not only to the training of qualified personnel but also to scientific research in collaboration with industrial enterprises and research institutions. As noted by the prominent D. Kunayev in his book about that era, no serious decision was once made without the participation of scientists. Today, thanks to government support, the situation is once again moving in that direction. Industry is turning toward science and is finally recognizing its value.
