The career start job fair, organized by the career and professional development center, was held at Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University. The event provided future graduates with the opportunity to directly interact with employers. About 1,500 final-year students took part in the fair.
Member of the board – vice-rector for academic affairs Bekbolat Nussipbekov introduced the invited guests and wished the graduates good luck. Member of the board – vice-rector for social and educational work Abay Kalykov noted in his speech: «Currently, there is a high demand for technical specialties. We try to meet this demand by training highly qualified specialists. In our university, 89% of graduates find employment in such areas as metallurgy, mechanical engineering, IT, energy, construction and others».
The fair was attended by distinguished guests, including deputy head of the «employment and social programs coordination department» of Karaganda region Toleu Mukhtari and head of the labor mobility center for Karaganda region Nurzhan Syzdykov. They presented their presentations to the students and shared useful tips on current trends in the labor market. The students, in turn, had the opportunity to provide their resumes, communicate with company representatives and ask questions of interest to them.
The fair was attended by about 80 leading companies in the region, as well as national and international organizations and government agencies. They introduced vacancies, internships and career opportunities that are open to graduates.
«These fairs not only strengthen the links between employers and the university, but also help prepare students for the labour market and assist companies in selecting qualified specialists», – noted HR manager of SILK ROAD Electronics, Kenzhe Tungyshbayeva.
The fair has become an important step in the professional development of students and will help them find their place in the labour market.
