On May 31, 2018, Department of Foreign languages together with EFL teacher Benjamin Taylor held a solemn presentation of certificates in honor of the completion of the training courses of KSTU faculty “English Language for Specific Purposes”. From 12/02 to 31/05/18 23 teachers of departments had 4-month training course in methods of teaching foreign language majors in the multilingual groups. This course is part of the program for the implementation of the concept of multilingual education of KSTU, aimed at developing the professional potential of employees in accordance with the latest international trends with the involvement of foreign specialists.
The introduction of multilingual education gives great prospects to universities and especially students in the realization of their potential, in the application of their knowledge and skills to improve their own well-being and well-being of their country.
Multilingualism in the educational environment is one of the main aspects of the work of all educational institutions in the country. The program of multilingual education provides for the creation of a new model of education that promotes the formation of a competitive generation in the conditions of internationalization, owning a language culture. Trilingualism gives students the key to world markets, science and new technologies, creates conditions for the formation of a new worldview and familiarity with the cultures of different people.
The participants of the course noted the usefulness and easy-to-understand systematization of the presentation of the material by a foreign teacher, when it becomes clear how to apply the acquired knowledge in teaching and research. “This course was of interest to me personally as a teacher responsible for those whom we graduate from our school. Of course, the way of transformation will be difficult, but we will make every effort to achieve a quality result”, — Oleynikova Elena Alekseevna, Master of Engineering, teacher of Department of Surveying and Geodesy shared her impressions.
At the end of the training, Master in ESL, EFL teacher Benjamin Taylor , who is one of the leading representatives among foreign teachers in Karaganda, emphasized that the past four months of training were rich and productive in lively discussions with participants, and expressed a desire to continue working together.
