Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University took an active part in the 10th UK-Kazakhstan Interstate Commission at DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY

On October 31, 2023, the 10th UK-Kazakhstan Interstate Commission was held at DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY. The event was organized under the theme “Education as a tool to improve the quality of teaching and attractiveness of universities” with the participation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

One of the Commission’s main priorities is the internationalization of higher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is reflected in the participation of 25,000 students in academic mobility and the presence of 38,000 foreign students in Kazakhstan. The Bolashak program continues to successfully support these students.

At present 1500 scientific projects, 180 double-diploma programs and 62 joint educational programs are being implemented in Kazakhstan, and work on attracting teachers from British universities is actively carried out.

The meeting proposed strategic directions of cooperation to expand academic mobility of students, including the Bolashak program. Presentations were made by Dr. Suzanna Tomassi, William Lawton, David Lock, Dr. Bhavna Dave, Jonathan French and Eduardo Ramos, who shared their experience and knowledge about the differences between the British and Kazakh education systems, joint educational programs and trends in TNE. Developmental workshops were also held.

Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University continues to be actively involved in strengthening international links with British Universities and developing transnational education in Kazakhstan, and this meeting is a further step in achieving this goal.
