In October 2008, the decision of the Academic Council of Sports Club became a separate unit of the University.

Throughout history, the university has evolved and sports facilities. In 1963 he was commissioned under construction of the main building of the sports hall. However, due to the growing number of students, sports hall did not provide the normal flow of the learning process and training sessions. In 1965 began the construction of a sports complex, the first phase was commissioned in 1969. In sports complex included: game room and two specialized audience: struggle and weightlifting. In 1985, came into operation another 3 halls: games room, table tennis room, wrestling gym.
In 2006 built four playgrounds with artificial turf. In 2007, a major overhaul of the hall table tennis, gymnastics hall, built a ski lodge, a shooting range. Currently sports complex — one of the largest facilities of universities in Kazakhstan. It consists of 9 specialized rooms that are equipped with modern facilities.
