April 9, 2013 on Gagarin square was held solemn event devoted to Cosmonautics Day. The first cosmonaut of the RK, national hero Tokhtar Aubakirov, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, heads of region, teachers and students of higher educational institutions took participation in the event.
Good clear weather and over past armed forces parade has reinforced impression of solemnity and significance of the event. The most active part in celebration took students of KSTU (Institute of Computer Technologies and System engineering). They not only heard performances of guests with great interest and attention, but also memories of veterans of GPW left them impassible. Stories about fighting struggles in peace time dragged everyone who were present on this event.
Such meetings will stay in memory for a long time and will be a reminder how fragile is our world and how small is our planet. Our main task is to preserve what we have.
