• Creation of the Department of Automation of Production Processes (APP).
• Appointment of V.Ya. Tikhonov to the post of deputy department.

1963

• The appointment of V.F. Wigandt as head of the department.

1966

• The appointment of V.F. Byrka for the post of head of the department.
• Rewarding V.F. Byrki with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for merits in the implementation of automation systems in the coal industry.

1967

• The first graduate of the specialty “Electrification and automation of mining” (GA).

1968

• Appointment of the head of the department V.F. Byrka for the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of KarPTI.
• Creation on the basis of the department of the dissertation council for the defense of candidate dissertations.

1969

• Creation on the basis of the department of APP of the department of “Industrial electronics”
• Creation of a student computing room on the basis of the MIR-1 computer on the basis of the department.

• Creation on the basis of the department of AMS and EIT of the department of ICT.

• Defense V.F. Byrka doctoral dissertation.

1976

• Appointment I.V. Breido as head of the department.

• Opening of the second specialization of the specialty EA.

• Protection of I.V. Breido doctoral dissertation.

1997

• Opening admission in an abbreviated form for graduates of technical colleges for the specialty EA.

1998

• Assigning the name of Professor V.F. Byrki.
• Opening admission to the magistracy.

1999

• Establishment of an association of graduates of the GA – EA.
• Opening of the third specialization of the specialty EA.

2000

• The beginning of training in the state language in the specialty EA.

2001

• Protection of B.N. Feshin doctoral dissertation.
• Opening of the specialty “Automation of technological processes and production” (ATP)
• The appointment of B.N. Feshin for the post of dean of the EMF.
• Opening admission to the EA specialty for students with higher education.
• Development, together with AIPET, of the State Standard for the specialty EA – 330840.

2002

• Transfer to the department of the specialty “Mechatronics and Robotics”.
• Opening of admission to the specialty ATP in the reduced and correspondence form of education.
• Publication of the first issue of the Bulletin of the Association GA – EA “At the turn of the century”
• Article Breido I.V. “Department of APP. Story. The present. Future”. Published in the first issue of the Bulletin of the Association of GA – EA “At the turn of the century”
• Creation of the first stage of the interdepartmental laboratory of computer systems of technological control and management.
• Development, together with the AIPET, of the State Standard for the Master’s Degree in the direction 33.00 – Electromechanics and electrical equipment.

2003

• Creation of joint training centers.
• Development of standard programs for a number of specialties.
• The department took 3rd place in the university.

2004

• Group EA-99-2 took first place in the university.
• Development together with AIPET and KazNGU of state standards for bachelor’s and master’s programs for the specialties “Power Engineering” and “Automation and Control”

2005

• Head of department Breido I.V. awarded the title of the best lecturer of the university.

2007

• As part of the development of international relations, the department takes part in the Synergy project developed by a consortium of universities.
• Creation of the laboratory “Modern technical means of automation” (STA) on the basis of the department.

2008

• Opening of a PhD doctoral program in the specialty “Electric power industry”.

2009

• Together with MPEI, training in two-diploma education has begun.

2010

• April 2010 Breido I.V. took part in the 3rd week of the formation of the SCO member states in Moscow.
• Specialty 5B070200 “Automation and Control” has successfully passed the international accreditation conducted by an external expert commission formed by the Association for Engineering Education of Russia (AEER)
• The Department and the Association of APP published a book of memoirs about prof. V.F. Byrki.

Achievements of the department, employees of the department in the 2010-2011 academic yearat

• The department took 2nd place in the competition for the title of the best department of KSTU, and Breido I.V. was awarded teacher of the year.
• Em G.A. received a letter of thanks from the Karaganda regional organization of veterans of the war in Afghanistan, February 2010, a letter of thanks from the enterprise “Ugleservis” MD JSC “ArcelorMittal Temirtau”, May 2010.
• Breido I.V., Kaverin V.V., Andreev E.V., Kalinin A.A., Lisitsyn D.V., Em G.A. received a letter of thanks from the enterprise “Ugleservice” MD JSC “ArcelorMittal Temirtau”, June 2010, for the presentation of the department of AMS at the enterprise “Ugleservice”.

• The department took first place in the ranking of undergraduate students in the specialty “Automation and Control”.
• Feshin B.N. won the grant “The best teacher of the university” for 2012.

2012

• The department took the third place in the ranking of Kazakhstan in the specialty “Automation and Control” and, together with the department “Energy” – the first place in the specialty “Power Engineering”.
• Head of department Breido I.V. the second time he won the grant “The best teacher of the university.”
• Regular training in the international master’s program in Internet technologies has begun within the framework of the Synergy project.

2021

• S. Nurmagambetova was appointed the head of the department. in connection with the death of Breido I.V.

2022
