From December 3 to 6, 2024, the last modules of the Academic Leadership Institute: Deans School course at Nazarbayev University with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan were successfully completed. The four-month intensive professional development program for managers, deans and heads of departments of higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan ended with the defense of group projects to develop models for the development of schools or faculties in different areas of training and a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek and President of Nazarbayev University Professor Waqar Ahmad.
Jantasova Damira Dulatovna, Head of the Department of Languages at Saginov Technical University in the group of humanities presented speaking on the development of research to support interdisciplinary and international cooperation, proposed the opening of the UNESCO SDG office with services to promote research, community engagement and resource hub.
The team of the Faculty of Humanities performed well and answered all the questions posed by the Nazarbayev University professors. An important decision of all participants of the program, heads of departments, deans and heads of departments of universities of Kazakhstan was the creation of the Deans’ Alliance of Kazakhstan in order to form a professional-dialogue independent platform of the republican level with horizontal cooperation of different levels of universities of Kazakhstan in academic, scientific and social areas of activity.
