In June of this year, at a round table organized by the Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University, the acting professor of the Department of Industrial Transport O. Balabaev presented for leadership of the Karaganda region, the State Institution “Management of Passenger Transport and Highways of the Karaganda region” a research project to study the transport system of the Karaganda agglomeration. Based on the conducted research, it was proposed to develop a Concept for the development of the transport system of the Karaganda agglomeration until 2030.
The scientific project received positive feedback from representatives of the akimat of the region and the city. Today, on December 4, in the Karaganda regional Akimat there was held a working meeting on the implementation of the above-mentioned research project. From the Karaganda regional Akimat it was attended by: M. Kozhanov, Head of the State Institution “Department of Passenger transport and highways of Karaganda region”; M. Mukashev, Deputy Head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Highways of the Karaganda region; A. Shagdat, Head of the Department of Highways and Road Infrastructure Development; K. Makyshov, Head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Transportation. On the part of the Abylkas Saginov University, the meeting was attended by the head of the scientific project, director of the Scientific and Technical Center “STU-ENGINEERING” O. Balabaev and Ph.D. in Economics, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Enterprise Management S. Akenov.
A number of issues were discussed during the meeting. Including assessment of the current state and analysis of prospects for the development of the transport system of the Karaganda agglomeration; analysis of foreign experience in the formation and development of transport systems of urban and regional agglomerations; analysis of the intensity of traffic flow on the highways of the Karaganda agglomeration; study of patterns of development of the transport system of the Karaganda agglomeration depending on changes in the intensity of traffic flows; development of a Concept for the development of the transport system of the Karaganda agglomeration until 2030.
The scientific project is of great importance for the development of the Karaganda region and increasing the transport and logistics potential of our country. It is pleasant to note that the authors of the project are scientists from our university.
