On November 22-23, Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of NJSC Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University Saule Sagintayeva and Head of the Department of Communication Systems Technology Nurbol Kaliaskarov, as part of the delegation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, paid an official visit to Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. the city of Shenzhen (China).
During the visit to the company’s key facilities, the Showcase Smart Classroom was demonstrated, a round table was held with Huawei Vice President Li Junfeng and Huawei Kazakhstan CEO Max Zhao to discuss digital solutions for the transformation of universities. During the official visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Huawei. Within the framework of cooperation, it is planned to develop an ecosystem of talents from among students, implement a strategy for further improving higher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, conduct scientific research, design the ICT infrastructure of campuses based on optical and wireless communication lines, organize smart classrooms, open ICT academies and gain knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence.
During the visit, Huawei Cloud Planck Exhibition Hall, Huawei flagship store, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. headquarters, Von Neumann Exhibition Hall for Digital Transformation, Huawei Library and R&D Center were visited. The exhibition hall gives a complete picture of the company’s vertical industry solutions, including utilities, transportation, oil and gas, electric power, mines, finance, manufacturing and digital energy. The production platform that the delegation got acquainted with covers wireless networks, transport networks, access networks, routers, urban Ethernet networks, backbone networks, servers, data storage devices, antennas, digital energy, mobile phones, home terminals and devices installed on vehicles.
This official visit gives a new impetus to the development of the Huawei ICT Academy at the NJSC Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University, which enrolled more than 100 students in the current semester in such areas as Datacom, AI, Big data, WLAN and Security.
