The World Chinese Language Congress, held at the National Conference Center in Beijing, aimed to promote the quality and innovative development of international education in Chinese, enhance language exchange and cooperation between China and other countries, and strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and people from all over the world.
The congress was organized by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the China International Education Foundation (CIEF), the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching. Delegates from five continents took part in the event.
The congress brought together representatives from Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classes worldwide. The keynote speaker for the seminar titled “The Legacy and Development of Confucius Institutes – 20 Years: A Flourishing Future” was Yang Wei, Chairman of the China International Education Foundation (CIEF).
A delegation from Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University, including the Chairman of the Board – Rector Saule Sagintayeva, Director of the Confucius Institute Tatyana Filippova, and Deputy Director Zhou Yuanci, participated in the congress.
During the conference, a meeting was held with our partner institution, Shihezi University. Rector Li Zhaoming and representatives from both universities discussed plans for the further development of the Confucius Institute, including the implementation of dual-degree programs and the establishment of joint research laboratories.
A highlight of the congress was the educational exhibition, which showcased Chinese universities and attracted significant interest from attendees.
Confucius Institutes, and, in general, the study of the language and traditions of other peoples allow us all to understand each other better, contribute to the strengthening of friendship between peoples.
