Students of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University NPJSC attended the play Elektra at the Karaganda Regional Kazakh Drama Theater named after S. Seifullin, as part of the project “Art for Everyone.”
Modern youth, the generation of independent Kazakhstan, always show interest in the many events taking place in the country. Theatrical life is no exception. The theaters of Karaganda consistently delight audiences with interesting productions, whose exciting plots captivate and leave no one indifferent.
Recently, the BT-24-1 group (curator Oralova A.T.) of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies visited the Karaganda Regional Kazakh Drama Theater named after S. Seifullin to watch Elektra, a tragedy by L. Durko, directed by Zhuldyzbek Zhumanbai, with production design by Zhelel Sadyrbekov.
The plot of the play encourages reflection on life and its values. The ancient tragedy resonates with modern themes, as good and evil, vice and virtue, are perpetually intertwined in human existence. The challenging relationships between father and child, and mother and daughter, lead to circumstances that disturb the soul and prevent calmness or indifference.
The students deeply empathized with the play’s protagonist, Electra, closely following her actions and emotional struggles.
The performance provokes thought about human qualities such as strength of character, honesty, and decency. Issues surrounding the battle between good and evil and the meaning of life remain timeless and relevant.
