Regional Conference on Gender and Energy in Central Asia

On October 17-18, 2024, a regional conference on gender and energy in Central Asia was held in Almaty, which was attended by students of our university: Kamila Shertishova (gr. EE-21-4) and Elena Bulgakova (gr. EE-22-4). The conference was attended by representatives of the SECCA project from different Central Asian countries (Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan), as well as European experts on gender and energy policy, who discussed issues of women’s participation in the Green Hydrogen and Green Energy programs. SECCA (Energy Sector Equality Platform) supports the discussion of concrete actions that contribute to achieving gender equality in the energy sector and the formation of a more diverse and inclusive workforce. The European Union (EU) launched the Sustainable Energy Links in Central Asia (SECCA) project in 2022. The project aims to strengthen and improve a more inclusive policy, regulatory and institutional framework for the transition to a sustainable energy system in a regional context, as well as to increase investment, capacity and awareness in the field of sustainable energy in the Central Asian region.
