On October 30, 2024, the Department of Foreign Languages at Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University held an educational event: a themed meeting titled “Republic Day: Honoring History and Setting Goals for the Future”.
The event, aimed at fostering patriotic spirit among students and instilling respect for Kazakhstan’s history and culture, took place on October 30 at 10:55 a.m. in Building No. 1, Room 421. Forty students, along with faculty members from the Department of Foreign Languages, participated in the celebration.
In recognition of Republic Day in Kazakhstan, the event emphasized the significance of this holiday as a symbol of our nation’s independence and sovereignty. Poems about Kazakhstan were recited, expressing love and pride for our homeland and creating a special patriotic atmosphere.
After the opening remarks from the host, faculty members addressed the attendees with congratulatory messages and well-wishes. They expressed their hopes for the future of the country and highlighted the importance of youth participation in the development of Kazakhstan. Students eagerly shared their thoughts, speaking about their feelings for this holiday and how they envision the future of the country.
The next part of the event was a quiz designed to test students’ knowledge of the history and importance of Republic Day. Students actively participated, demonstrating a strong awareness of their country’s history. Additionally, students prepared performances including dancing and playing the guitar and the traditional dombyra, which added a national touch and a sense of unity to the event. The musical performances and dance numbers were met with applause and appreciation from the audience.
In the final part of the event, students were divided into groups for a creative task: creating drawings depicting their vision of Kazakhstan 50 years from now. Each group presented their work, which clearly showcased their dreams and hopes for the country’s future. Many of the pieces were filled with a spirit of innovation, unity, and sustainable development.
The event concluded with expressions of gratitude and the awarding of students for their active participation and creative approach. Final lines of a poem were recited, symbolizing faith in Kazakhstan’s bright future and the united efforts of all citizens toward the country’s prosperity.
The celebration of Republic Day was a success and achieved its objectives. The students not only demonstrated their engagement and patriotism but also strengthened their understanding of the importance of this day in Kazakhstan’s history.
