On September 18, 2024, the annual Roadshow was held at the Huawei ICT Academy of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University. It was attended by representatives of the Huawei, teachers of the Power Engineering, Automation and Telecommunications Faculty and the Innovative Technologies Faculty, as well as students of the educational programs “Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications”, “Network Technologies and Communication Systems”, “Information Systems”, “Information Security Systems” and “IT Medicine”.
This event is held annually to encourage students to participate in the international IT Olympiad “Huawei ICT Competition”, in which students have the right to choose one of three areas for participation: “Network Track”, “Cloud Track” and “Computing Track”.
As part of the competition, students of the Huawei ICT Academy around the world compete with each other, defending their projects in the field of information and communication technologies.
The Olympiad is held in 4 stages. At the first stage, students are selected in their cities. The students who show the best results go to the second stage of the national selection in Almaty. Then the best students of the national selection go to the third stage, which takes place in Saudi Arabia. Among the participants, the grand finalists are identified.
The Grand Final is held at the Huawei head office in Shenzhen, China. The best students of the national and global stages are awarded valuable gifts, and the winners of the Grand Final are given priority to receive a job offer from the company.
The Huawei ICT Academy of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University has been operating since 2021 and currently has more than 300 students registered in the classes of this academy. They have access to educational materials, virtual programs, guidelines for completing laboratory work, as well as video tutorials prepared by the Huawei representatives.
Studying these materials will help students gaining knowledge to win Olympiads, to receive free vouchers for passing an international exam, which gives the right to purchase a certificate that is recognized worldwide and to get a highly paid position at IT companies around the world. In the first term of the 2024-2025 academic year, classes are open in the following areas: Datacom, WLAN, Security, Big data and AI. All the interested students of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University can join the classes and access the materials at any time. To do this, they need to contact the Department of Communication Systems Technologies, on the basis of which the Huawei ICT Academy has been opened.
