Educational program 6B07201 – “Geology and exploration of mineral deposits” – bachelor’s degree.
The duration of full-time study is 4 years.
Preparation is carried out through full-time and part-time forms of study and ends with the award of a bachelor’s degree. Further education can be continued through master’s degree programs.
Training is carried out both on a state order and on a paid basis in Russian and state languages, using credit technology.
The procedure for admission to bachelor’s programs is established in accordance with the Standard Rules for Admission to Educational Organizations Implementing Professional Study Programs of Higher Education.
After the second year, the specialty is divided into trajectories.

— Geological survey, prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits
— Geophysical methods of prospecting and exploration
Our specialists take part in the development of programs and processing of materials related to geological and geophysical research; development of regional water supply programs for settlements and industrial enterprises; engage in scientific research in the fields of geology, geochemistry and geophysics.
Educational program 6B07208 – “Geophysical technologies and engineering” – bachelor’s degree.

The standard duration of mastering a scientific and pedagogical master’s degree is 2 years.
There are 2 trajectories of specialized training for master’s students: mine geology and mine geology
In case of early completion of the master’s educational program and successful completion of a dissertation for the academic degree “master”, the applicant is awarded the required degree, regardless of the period of study.
Masters in OP 7M07202 Geology and exploration of mineral deposits as a specialist at enterprises engaged in subsoil use at all stages of geological exploration and production, in management and examination bodies of the subsoil use process, in scientific organizations carrying out geological research.
For a master’s degree in scientific and pedagogical training, the priority activities, in addition to the above, are: teaching in secondary vocational and higher educational institutions, as well as various scientific geological research.
Graduates who have successfully completed educational master’s programs are prepared for doctoral studies.

Students who have completed the relevant educational programs of postgraduate professional education are awarded an academic degree – Master.
Training is carried out both on a state order and on a paid basis only on a full-time basis in Russian and the state languages, using credit technology.

The Department of Geology and Geophysics, in accordance with the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated No. 12014940 dated October 22, 2012), has been providing PhD students since September 1, 2014.
While working on dissertation research, PhD doctoral students undergo mandatory scientific internship with foreign scientific supervisors from leading scientific and educational centers.
The department associates development prospects with:
— computerization and the introduction of computer technologies in training, the introduction of application software packages, the completion of the material and technical base by equipping it with modern computers, logging stations, equipment, probes, instruments;
— opening of a PhD-doctorate in EP 8D07201 “Geophysical methods of prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits”
— expansion of international relations with enterprises and universities abroad and CIS countries.
