From February 26 to March 2, 2018 in Karaganda was XII Regional Spartakiada among students for the prizes of the Akim of the Karaganda region, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana.
This year, the Karaganda State Medical University hosts the Spartakiad. And the competition involved students from eight universities in the region. Competitions are held in 13 kinds of sports: cross-country skiing (relay race), speed skating, winter Presidential all-around, mini-football, volleyball, basketball, Cossack kuresi, table tennis, chess, togyz-kumalak, checkers, athletics, asyk atu.
In the Spartakiada there are:
1. Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov.
2. Karaganda State Medical University.
3. Karaganda State Technical University.
4. State Industrial University of Temirtau.
5. Central-Kazakhstan Academy.
6. Karaganda Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after B. Beysenov.
7. Karaganda Economic University Kazpotrebsoyuz.
8. Karaganda University “Bolashak”
9. ZhzUU them. OA Baikonurova
As a result of the competition, the team of the University took the first place, the second place was taken by the team of KSMU, the third place was taken by the team of the KEU. The team of KSTU took the 4th place.
