On 03 October 2017, first regional Science and Technology Council for science chaired by the head of the region Yerlan Koshanov with scientists working in leading universities of our region.
The participants discussed the ways and means of implementing the seven projects in the field of “green energy”, which was submitted to Karaganda region at the specialized exhibition “EXPO-2017” in Astana.
In the course of the event, the rector of KSTU, Doctor of Engineering, professor Ibatov Marat Kenesovich made speech. Marat Ibatov spoke about scientific developments created by the faculty of Karaganda State Technical University.
The developments of scientists of Karaganda State Technical University arouse interest. For example, professor of KSTU Iosif Breido has presented an experimental model of a distributed error-correcting “smart grid” system status monitoring supports high-voltage transmission lines using combined methods of information transfer. Teaching staff of KSTU together with Karaganda branch “KEGOC” JSC has created a system able to protect and diagnose the construction of towers, high-voltage transmission line with voltage of 500 kV, as well as, with the help of sensors placed on poles to monitor leakage currents, sudden breaks in the lines, the appearance of frost, etc.
The head of the region Y. Koshanov instructed the responsible people to help the authors of innovative projects in the stages of submitting documents to the institutions of development and search of financing.
