On 4 May 2017, the VII Republican student scientific – practical conference “The Great Patriotic War by youth of XXI century” dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Great Victory was held in the Assembly hall of the main building of KSTU.
Rector of KSTU, Ph.D., professor, M.K. Ibatov, Deputy Chairman of Karaganda regional Council of Veterans of F.P. Ermakov, Chairman of Karaganda regional organization of Kazakhstan branch of the Trade Union of Education and Science Samoilyuk T.F. delivered welcoming speech to all participants of the conference.
Presentations were made by WWII veterans: S.G. Ponomareva, V.A. Sheludyakov, home front worker of World War II: L.N. Bilyk, Chairman of the Commission on Military-Patriotic work among young people the city of the Council of Veterans E.K. Omarov, professor, Chairman of the Veterans Council of KSTU ObukhovYu.D., Director of Karaganda regional archive TurssynovaZh.Zh.
The conference was conducted in three panel sessions: “Contribution of workers and cultural figures in the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War”, “History of the heroism of the Kazakh people: history and modernity”, “Great Patriotic War in the history of my family”.
The conference was attended by University faculty, students and undergraduates of KSTU, KSMU, E.A. Buketov KSU. The conference participants were unanimous in saying that the purpose of Patriotic education of modern youth on the example of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, we must work seriously and responsibly to approach to a comprehensive study of the heroic pages of our history, to encourage the youth to be proud of the courage and heroism of the Soviet people of all Kazakhstan people, who fought in the struggle against fascism, the freedom and independence of our Motherland.
For veterans and honorary guests of the conference was held a gala concert of “Big Band” of K. Baizhanov’s concert association
A resolution was adopted at the end of the conference, the best reports were awarded with letters of gratitude.
