One of a kind professional contest “Golden Hephaestus” is held in the Republic of Kazakhstan annually in the framework of Astana Mining & Metallurgy Congress. The competition aims to raise the status and competitiveness of professionals, encouraging them to continuously develop professional skills. 25 May 2017, a ceremony of awarding diplomas to the winners of the contest “Golden Hephaestus” was held in Astana, prizes were awarded as well.
This year 190 nominees fought for the right to get the award «Golden Hephaestus». Winners are traditionally determined by a jury in close discussion, just a few hours before the award ceremony.
The winner in the category “Thesis of the year” became the student of Mechanical Engineering faculty, Department “Nanotechnology and metallurgy” Mashkenova Aizhan Erlankyzy (group MET-13-6). She was awarded a diploma and a statuette of “Golden Hephaestus”. Her graduate work was under the direction of senior lecturer Malashkevichute E.I.
Also one of the best dissertations included in TOP-3 was the work of student from MET-13-1P Boshanov Alisher Ashimovich done under the supervision of associate professor, Ph.D., Sultamurat G.I.
Thus, in the category “Diploma thesis of the year” two students of the Department “Nanotechnology and metallurgy” of Karaganda State Technical University were awarded.
