On 21 February 2017, the opening of the XI regional sports contest among students for prizes of Akim of Karaganda region dedicated to the International exhibition EXPO – 2017 was held at 15:00 on the basis of the sports complex of KSTU.
– Head of Department on Physical Culture and Sports of Karaganda region Sukhorukova Natalya Yevgenyevna;
– First Vice-rector, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor Issagulov Aristotel Zeinullinovich made speech.
The team membership included KSTU students:
– Sergey Ivanov – champion of district and regional sambo competitions, silver medal winner of regional competition “Zhas Barys” and “Kazakhstan Barysy” on “Kazakh kuresi” among youth, the torchbearer of the regional stage of the World Universiade, the first who took the torch fire from the hands of Akim of Karaganda region;
– Tilepbek Iranbek – bronze prize-winner of Republican competitions on karate among cadets;
– Temirbolat Temirlan – bronze prize-winner of regional championship “Kazakhmys – Box”, bronze prize-winner of regional competitions in sambo.
The oath on behalf of the judiciary was read by the chief judge in athletics Kletsko Tatyana Anatolyevna. The oath on behalf of students was read by KSTU student Bazarbayev Beybarys Utegenuly.
After opening the Olympics, the members of creative teams of our University performed with their program.
