On March 14 in Karaganda State Technical University will host the qualifying stage of the largest International engineering championship “Case-in” by decision of energy and mineral cases.
The stages of the Championship will be held in 37 universities from more than 30 regions of Russia, and also Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Over 5,000 students will compete for a spot in the finals.
International engineering championship “Case-in” held for the fourth consecutive year, is the successor of the all-Russian championship on solving cases in mining (2013, 2014) and all-Russian championship on solving the fuel and energy cases (2015) and consists of five areas (leagues): electricity, Mining, geological exploration, metallurgy, Oil and gas business.
The championship is an actual educational project of the mining sector, which was based on one of the most modern techniques of learning — the business case. During the Championship, undergraduate and graduate students in the team will offer the solution of engineering business case studies developed by the materials industry leading companies. Participants ‘ ideas will appreciate the specially formed expert jury from among the representatives of various companies, scientific and educational centres, industry experts and business case studies.
The project aims to identify and support talented and motivated students from leading universities of Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, which train specialists of mountain profile and power.
The organizers of the Championship are: Fund “Reliable change”, a non-profit partnership “Youth forum of mining leaders” and noncommercial partnership “RNC CIGRE”. Partners for the event are the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Agency for strategic initiatives to promote new projects, as well as large industrial enterprises and Karaganda State Technical University.
Selections of the largest International engineering championship of fuel and energy case studies in the field of mining and power industry KSTU will be held on 4 March at 10.00 at the address: Bulvar Mira, 56, Main building, room # 337 and # 338.
The team, which will be the winners of the qualifying stages, will participate in the final competition, which is traditionally held in Moscow at the end of May 2016.
