February 9 this year marked the 90th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev. Mukagali Makatayev’s work is the golden fund of Kazakh poetry. A talent born in the first half of the twentieth century, who absorbed the folk origins in spirit and body, became the most beloved poet of his people. The anniversary of the poet, who took a special place in the soul of his native people, is important not only for Kazakh literature, but also for the entire spiritual world of our independent state. During his short life, the poet left an indelible and immortal legacy in Kazakh literature!
- Makataev’s work is a combination of the harmony of love and the meaning of being. Poetry reflects the life, feelings and thoughts of a great man.
Mukagali Makatayev, as if through time, addresses and encourages young people to do good, to be useful to their Homeland, to be its true patriots. Both the mountain peak of Khan Tengri and the work of the poet rises in Kazakh poetry, it stands on a par with the poetry of Abai, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Olzhas Suleimenov.
The main purpose of this event is to educate the young generation of the desire for knowledge, a deep knowledge of the history of their country, love and respect for the Motherland, friendly relations between people of different nationalities.
The event will be held in Russian and Kazakh languages.
