On 20 October 2017, an exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the opening of the specialty “Architecture” at Karaganda State Technical University was held in the Regional Museum of Fine Arts of Karaganda. The theme of the exhibition: “Future of Karaganda in the eyes of students-architects”.
The exhibition was attended by architects, artists, critics, staff of Architecture and Construction faculty of KSTU and students studying on speciality “Architecture”. The exhibition presents drawings of famous buildings in Karaganda, supplemented and enhanced by students-architects. Among the exhibited works, a special place is taken by the first graduation project made by hand “Reconstruction of the Polytechnical University”.
The event was opened by the honorary architect of the RK, Lebedev Sergey Alekseyevich, who mentioned the main milestones in the development of this specialty in KSTU and noted many who made their unique contribution to the creation of the appearance of our city and in the education of the whole galaxy of architects: E.G. Melikov, E.I. Khidirov, G.K. Najarian, V.I. Duz-Kriadchenko, professor L.R. Zolotareva, S.I. Mordvintsev, A.V. Titarev, chief architect of Karaganda region — Dzhiembayev K.Zh., and many others. Director of the regional Museum of Fine Arts Kudabayeva Bibigul Sagintaevna; professor, PhD — Zolotareva Larisa Romanovna; member of Kazakhstan Artists Union, art historian — Ivanina Natalia Ivanovna, honorary architect of the RK — Dzhiembaev Kairat Askenovich, member of the Artists Union Kiy Lev Tikhonovich, Boykov Alexander made welcoming speeches.
